Happy New Year’s Day! Or happy day after new year’s or whenever you’re reading this lol!
With the beginning of a whole new year, a whole new season, we are handed a blank slate. A chance to start over, do better, be awesome! Some of you have written out resolutions declaring “I’m gonna eat healthier” or “ This year I’m going to lose weight.” We promise to chase our dreams, do better at school and just be a better person all-around. And these resolution’s can be great! But too often, I see people making these huge, elaborate plans centered around secular goals, while totally forgetting to set up spiritual goals as well!
Isn’t that crazy!
If you are a Christian, your number one goal should be to serve God better every day. If that’s our NUMBER ONE job, then shouldn’t we make a game plan? When we make our lengthy list of resolutions, should we have at least 2 about Jesus?
Now, this does not mean get rid of your old resolutions! Just add on some new ones! Spiritual resolutions don’t have to be super imposing and challenging, but they can be life-changing! Be creative! Here are a few suggestions:
These are small, simple ways that go a lonnnngggg way in improving your Christian walk. Why not try one out? Pray about what God wants you to improve in you. Take advantage of each new day of 2017 to bring glory to your King, your Savior, your Provider, JESUS CHRIST! Pray also that God will give you the willpower to carry out your plans for self empowerment through the New Year. If you’re like me, you know that resolutions are the hardest to keep. But, this is important to keep. Everyday of 2017 you should strive to carry out your resolution so that you can become a much better person by the time 2018 comes. When the next New Year comes, you’ll look back in pride on the productiveness of 2017. Let God be first in your life as you enter this New Year!
