It is my pleasure to post my interview with Youtuber Anchor Girl!
Anchor Girl, aka Michelle, is a young lady called by God to a very unique ministry. Her ministry lines up with her passion, which is strengthening the hearts of young girls through one of media’s biggest platforms: Youtube. She is zealous about sharing the news that every girl is God’s princess and needs to be anchored in Him. She gives advice for the tons of pressures and hardships we, as girls, face. I can’t wait to see how much she and her ministry grow spiritually. She is just a downright amazing girl! I was soooo thrilled to interview her!
This was the first interview I have had with anyone and I am so blessed to have done it with Michelle. Michelle has that bubbly personality that swept away my anxiety. The work of God is definitely evident in her!
So without further ado, I present to you the inspiring interview I had with Michelle.
Bailey- What inspired you to start Anchor Girl?
Michelle- I would have to say that it was mostly my family, because without my parents and their encouragement, I don’t think I would be able to put my plans and my dreams into action. They knew that Anchor Girl is something I’ve always wanted. They helped me through everything. I also had some really close friends who I would talk to about Anchor Girl and they would give me the encouragement that I needed.
Bailey- That’s so cool! My family and friends have been a big part of our blog ministry, too. Here’s your second question: what 3 words would you say sum up Anchor Girl?
Michelle- First of all, I would say HOPE because that’s what we want to give girls. Second would probably be PURPOSE, because we have a purpose. We have a mission to help girls by sharing positive messages. The third word I think sums up Anchor Girl would be FUN! We want to share a positive message, we want to give hope to girls, but at the same time we just want to have a lot of fun with it. We have some really fun videos, like the vlog, and all that. We really want to be fun.
Bailey- That’s wonderful. Do you have a team that helps you out?
Michelle- I do! It’s mostly my parents, and then I have a friend who edits a few of my videos. She was actually in my Community Challenge video.
So she edits my videos and my parents will give me tips and tricks once I’ve planned my videos on how to make it better and then they help me put everything into action.
Bailey- Your parents seem very involved in your YouTube Channel! How have they impacted your relationship with Christ and your ministry as Anchor Girl?
Michelle- I think that, more than anything, they’ve always been there for me. Like I said, without them, I’d probably never be able to put my plans and dreams into action. They’ve also raised me to be a Godly person and to always just live my life for Christ and to make every moment count. As I grow up and learn, I realize how much that actually means to me.
Bailey- What was your favorite video to record?
Michelle- I would have to say… probably my community service project that I did in the summer. We went to a shelter and helped the moms and the kids. And then another one would probably be my Family Beach Week video that just went up the other day. That was so much fun because I got to have a good time with my family and it was just a great blessing to be together.
Bailey- Wow! So what was a life situation that has greatly impacted your walk with Christ?
Michelle- I would have to say, ever since I was little I’ve always had friendship issues and I've also dealt a lot with self doubt and low self esteem and all that kind of stuff. Little things in my life like friend problems and friend drama. I could really just go to God and ask Him to just help me through whatever I’m going through; help me to be a better person and help me to deal with all the problems that I’m going through the right way. With my low self esteem, I think that I’ve really been able to find confidence in Him. I’ve always prayed about it and talked to my parents. I’ve always been able to find my confidence in Him.
Bailey- That’s wonderful. What are some ways you do ministry outside of Anchor Girl?
Michelle- Well, my dad is actually a church planter.
Bailey- That’s cool!
Michelle- Yeah, so I’m involved a lot in my church. We’ll do church reach-outs and just serve people wherever we go. We’ll give it all we got and it’s so much fun and at the same time helping so many people. So I would say mostly my church and helping out with that ministry.
Bailey- Church is a great way to do ministry.
Michelle- Yeah, it is.
Bailey- If you could say anything to your younger self, what advice would you give?
Michelle- Um, I’m still pretty young (lol) but I mean, if I could say anything to my younger self, I would say that when you’re in doubt, remember that God has a plan for you. He put things in your heart that He really wants you to put into action. Just find your courage in Him. I know that this advice would have helped me so much when I was younger because I dealt a lot with low self esteem and all that.
Bailey- I totally agree. So do you have any idea of what God is leading you to do as an adult?
Michelle- Ever since I was little, I’ve always had a heart for ministry and I really think that that is going to be my whole life. I feel like God is putting in my heart to continue I guess my dad’s life (laughter). I mean, I really would like to plant another campus of my dad’s church. And I’m thinking way, way ahead now, but I would really love to marry a loving and godly person and be able to continue my life in ministry. I think that’s really what I’m going to do my whole life.
Bailey- Wow! That's awesome! Well, thank you so much for letting Not Just Another Blog do this interview with you. I can see God is working in your life. You are such an inspiration!
Michelle- Thank you so much. It was awesome.
I really wanted to share Michelle’s testimony with you because she is a young, ordinary girl living an extraordinary life. She’s using her talents and passions to glorify God. Why? Because that’s what He commands of all His children! No matter your age or situation, your first priority should be to glorify Christ! I love how Michelle has chosen to do this and I hope her testimony will inspire you to do so as well! Check her out on her various social media platforms and show some support! Also, feel free to comment below, maybe even sharing some one you would love to see interviewed on our blog!
