Most Christians are familiar with the hymn, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”.
What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh what peace we often forfeit,
Oh what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.
We've all been told that Jesus is the most valuable friend we could have. Of course, his levels of friendship MUST have been goals, but what were the qualities that made Jesus’ relationship so valuable, desirable, and admirable? Here's what I found while looking at the scriptures
Jesus was the epitome of selflessness.

6 years ago, I had a best friend. We played together every day of the summer. Almost every childhood memory I have, she was there. But, even as a little girl, I noticed little differences between us. The way she talked and played and learned was different than anyone else I had met. I later learned that my best friend was born very, very early, causing her development to be delayed. At 10 years old, I didn’t fully understand disabilities, but there was something that drew me to this girl because something about her differences made her all the more special.
6 years after moving away from my best friend, I was reminded and convicted of the way society treats people with unique disabilities.
Honestly, working with natural hair isn’t easy! I know so many people who are transitioning or doing a big chop who just DON’T KNOW what to do. You won’t find black hair care in the magazines or in mainstream beauty content. Luckily for me, I was trained by a mom who took very good care of my hair. But every day of wearing kinky-coily hair, I learn something different! Some things you just figure out about your personal strands, but there is some general information that can be beneficial to everyone! Here’s a beginner’s guide to the basics of natural hair!
Having a friend who shares the same faith as you is amazing! Or .... at least, it should be. Lately, I’ve been wondering if my relationship with my Christian friends is as beautiful as God planned for it to be. I mean, sure we have a good time together. But what makes our friendship different from a secular relationship? Besides the fact that we exchange church jokes.
Are my Christian friendships supposed to be deeper than that?
