Today is the last day of Black History Month and we wanted to recognize someone who has personally inspired is! As African American girls, we are always so inspired to see other African American girls portrayed as beautiful and strong and unique. Even when TV shows and books fail to portray powerful black women, Cerena Robertson does! Her beautiful art work reminds us that women of all shades are masterpieces of God! Even though she's only 16, she is already raising self-esteem and empowering other girls. She is amazing! Check out her Instagram and Snapchat accounts at ohsocerena and enjoy her awesome pictures below!
Howdy y’all! This week I had one of the best times of my life! See, what happened is I went to TeenPact. TeenPact is a Christian organization that teaches students how to successfully engage in politics and culture. I mainly attended to learn about government, but God showed me so much more!
TeenPact is known for its AWESOME worship and devotions. Our camp leader taught on the Book of Philippians, a letter written to the city of Philippi a few decades after Christ ascended. Paul, the author of the letter, was a traveling missionary who boldly proclaimed the gospel. But because of that boldness, he was imprisoned by the Roman government countless times, and Philippians was supposedly written during one of those imprisonments.
Despite all the pain, the sorrow, and the difficulties Paul faced, he maintained vibrant joy.
There is so much sin in the world. Everywhere you turn, there’s another story about abuse, violence, manipulation, rape. Sex trafficking doesn’t always make the news, but it’s an evil thriving all around us. It’s the monster under our bed that we try to forget so we can have a moment’s peace, a good night’s sleep, but it’s still there.
I first realized the horror of sex trafficking a few years ago ....

This article is a response to terinathecreator on Instagram! She commented on our page (@notjustanotherblog) “I’m always seeking a very good moisturizing conditioner for co-washing” when we asked our followers to share any hair needs for us to write about. (Feel free to comment below any questions and post suggestions you have!)
Our ultimate fav co-wash/deep conditioning product is definitely the WEN CLEANSING CONDITIONER! It makes our hair SUPER soft while very gently cleansing AND detangling! We started using the Wen Cleansing Conditioner a few years ago and it TOTALLY changed our hair experience. Our hair became shockingly softer and moisturized. All the knots and tangles we had struggled with all but disappeared, so much so that our mom felt comfortable with pre-teen Nia doing her own hair with this product at hand. We buy the Sweet Almond Mint and it smells like Heaven!
We used to buy this product ALL the time. Unfortunately, Wen isn’t the cheapest product on the shelf, especially for three heads, so we now buy it only occasionally. *tears* Our hair is never the same without it!
Another thing about Wen is that it didn’t replace our need for shampoo. On the commercials, they basically say that Wen co-cleansers eliminate all need for shampoo. We quickly discovered that this didn’t work for our natural hair. While it might work for European hair, black hair deals with a lot of build-up and, for us, requires a “real” shampoo.
However, the Wen Co-Cleanser is still a great deep conditioner on our hair! We use it to co-wash or to gently cleanse. Generally, we shampoo every week and use Wen Co-Cleanser weekly for clean, moisturized hair. We just recently ran out :( and we can’t wait to pick up more! We definitely suggest you go try it out!
