This is the story of the worst and most humiliating golf tournament I ever played. It was just a bad day. I was stiff. I was frustrated. I lost my balls. The balls I hit never landed where I was aimed. I had to pick up on every hole( which means I basically got the worse score possible!) My sisters didn’t have it easy either. Actually, it was probably our worst day ever.
We totally flunked that tournament! To be honest, it was devastating. But, I’m not as sad about it as I was. In fact, I’m glad we flunked. ( THAT’S RIGHT, I’M GLAD!!!)
Don’t worry, readers, there is nothing mentally wrong with me. I’m just glad because I got something more valuable losing than I would have winning. Because I lost my balls, I now know to be careful next time. Because I was too stiff, I now know to loosen up. Losing has taught me about my weaknesses so that I can make it my strongest side. Now I can work better and someday become great.
Remember Thomas Edison and his light bulb? He tried 2000 times before he actually succeeded in getting his light bulb to work. Instead of getting aggravated, he declared that failing helped him learn 2000 ways not to make the light bulb! So after failing a million times in my tournament, I have gotten a million times better in my golf skills!!!
Now, I challenge you, readers, to take the lesson I learned and apply it in your life. In every failure you make, learn from your loss. Winning would have gotten me glory and honor but losing had given me knowledge and wisdom.
